Information Awareness Month offers a bounty of activities and opportunities to increase your Information Quotient (IQ)

IAM is a collaborative event across the records, archives, library, knowledge, information and data management communities. The goal is to increase public awareness of information and its place in all aspects of daily life.

This year’s theme is Informed About Your Changing Environment. Highly topical as we all adapt to significant changes in our work and home lives, new rules and recommendations — timely, trusted information has never been more critical.

Due to COVID-19 it’s been impossible to hold face-to-face events. However, there are still lots of great online activities and opportunities to increase your Information Quotient (IQ).

It’s a great time for practitioners from diverse information disciplines to come together for professional development and networking — aiming to explore, promote and celebrate better ways of handling information.

We’ll get the party started on 1 May with the IAM 2020 Launch Seminar which considers the role of information in emergency and crisis situations, such as natural disasters, disease outbreaks, war and terror incidents. How critical it is to have rapid access to the right information; how information can be used (and misused). A panel of experts will share their experiences and lessons learned.
