World Telecommunication & Information Society Day highlights the power of information, the internet and ICT to build better societies and stronger economies, connecting people around the world.
We’re reminded of the vision to build “a people-centred, inclusive and development-oriented information society” based on fundamental human rights.
This year’s theme is Connect 2030. It focuses on the role of information and tehcnology to support the UN Sustainable Development Goals, in particular: fostering economic, environmental and social sustainability, and bridging the digital divide.
