To my great delight I was reading about Kate Cumming and Cassie Findlay - 'Cumming wore a stylish, fitted dress with a wide leather belt and Findlay sported skinny pants with a long necklace of chunky modern beads' (I guess in reaction to the cardy image). ' Talking to the two women feels like a conversation with some of the friendlier detectives from Law & Order. They are warm and deeply knowledgeable but there's something a little piercing about their intelligence as well'.
And Adrian Cunningham - 'a lean, energetic man in his forties' evangelising about the need for a Johnny Rotten of the archives - a game changing iconoclast.
Not to mention the actual contents of the article which is about the challenges of the modern day archivist and digital recordkeeping. Absolutely fabulous to see this in such a high profile magazine and doing justice to many of our issues and concerns.
Its available on line by subscription at http://www.themonthly.com.au which becomes publicly available via an online archive after (maybe) 2 months.
Great stuff. Congratulations to all participants and any organiser!
