James, you're so right. Take a look at the article I just posted, about new Google Chromebook which stores all the users' data in the Cloud rather than locally. Organisations don't want to do IM - and they generally equate storage with management, preservation, responsibility. Vendors will only supply what consumers demand. It's our job to educate business owners, senior managers, and the general public about the issues they need to consider. The the vendors can figure out the most efficient way to deliver :-)
