Dear all
I'm giving a workshop at ASA2017 in Melbourne, and I'd like to do some early research into what skills, standards and software people currently use to help me target the workshop properly.
I've asked the ASA President for permission to survey you all - it's anonymous - and she has graciously agreed.
Please have a look at my very simple survey - https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/QDZFWY8
Many thanks

Hi Lise,
I would like to be involved in this group and discussion, but find that the link takes me to Google groups or what seems to be a main page of the AtoM users Australia group...is there a link to the discussion on descriptive standards and relationships, more specifically?
Thanks and regards,
Ros
Following on from the software workshop run by Fraser Faithfull at ASA 2017, and the description workshop with me, Piers Higgs and Barbara Reed, we've been looking at descriptive standards and relationships. There's a discussion on the AtoM users Australia google group if you'd like to be involved (and, no, you don't have to use AtoM to be involved). https://groups.google.com/forum/?utm_source=digest&utm_medium=e...!topic/atom-users-australasia/dwBWSOhbJ7M

I'm back from my trip to Canada and thinking about the conference in Melbourne. I've done a quick review of the survey findings, which should give us some good points for discussion at the workshops! Thanks again to all who participated.

33 responses already, and counting. You are all amazingly generous! I've been asked if I will share the results and the answer is, yes, of course. I'll close the survey off at the end of next week, and will start the analysis after that. The goal is, of course, to create some focus questions and structure for the ASA 2017 workshop, but I'll give you all some feedback before that.
Many thanks to those who have already replied - there have been some great responses ! (I'm looking at you, dear archivist, whose software dates from the '80s, wearing its red vinyl bomber jacket, in particular). There's a certain amount of frustration being expressed too. Let it all hang out :)
