A to M archive software

We are looking at A to M archive software that is used by Archives at ANU.  My IT dept  has download the software but I'm having trouble logging in and playing around with it. Does any one is Melbourne use this software? And is there an Australian user group? Has anyone looked at it and decided not to use it?

Any help is greatly appreciated

  • Hi Hazel - if you want to email me - meg.travers@sro.wa.gov.au - I'll see if I can help get you logged in at least. I'm trying to remember the default AtoM login user/pass - is that in the email you got?

  • Thanks Meg for your interest. We are the Archives of the Anglican Diocese of Melbourne with 2 part time staff. I am having trouble logging in.  I emailed them but I couldn't get the link in their reply to work.  My IT dept are happy to help but they are very busy. I think once I can get it up and running, it should be okay.  But a the moment, I haven't got past login, in order to play around with their database.

    Thanks

  • Hi Jeff

thanks for the offer.  Are you a big organisation also? With lots of IT help etc?

    Cheers

  • Thanks Meg. So far only big places use this software, I think.

    • Depends on how you think of "big"! We have a staff of ~20 across the whole office. Our IT is shared across the culture and arts portfolio, and they don't support these kinds of applications...

Hazel - what is your organisation?

  • Thanks Maggie.  I know you're very busy, so I'll keep you for last :)

  • Hi Hazel
I'm using the software too, along with Archivematica. I'm happy to share my experiences if you want to contact me directly.

    All the best
    Jeff
  • Hi Hazel - we are using AtoM at SRO in WA and have done a bit of customisation of it. I've recently started a Google group for Australasian AtoM users, if you've got any specific questions they might be good to post there.
