The May 2011 meeting of the ASA NSW Branch will be held on Wednesday 16 May 2012, at the Coles Room, Level 3, Macquarie Wing, State Library of NSW, Macquarie Street, Sydney, at 5.30pm for 6pm.

The meeting begins with refreshments at 5.30pm (please donate $5 towards costs: we provide soft drinks, red wine, white wine, dips, nibbles, and Angela McGing's famous fruit cake).

At 6pm Richard Lehane (of State Records NSW) will address the Branch on the topic:

‘State Records NSW experimental online catalogue’

Last year State Records NSW launched an experimental interface to its online catalogue, Archives Investigator. The new search interface aims to improve the researcher experience by offering a ‘simple’ search with ‘advanced’ results.  You can try this new search tool at http://api.records.nsw.gov.au.

Richard will talk about the principles underlying its design and also about its other role as a structured interface to the raw data underlying the catalogue.

After Richard’s presentation, there will be a Branch business meeting. NB. Our last Business meeting was held in March 2012.

We usually finish up by 7.30pm.
