Workshop for Small and Medium Archives
- 10:00 – 10:30 Workshop Registration and Morning Tea
- 10:30 – 12:30 The morning workshop will cover software and tools for small to medium archives including packages built on both proprietary and open-source platforms. Packages discussed will include ICA AToM and the associated Archivematica digital preservation package, Collective Access and eHive collection management packages, and the locally developed tools HDMS and FACIT. Presenters include Mike Jones, Archivist, Historian and Consultant, and Ailie Smith from the University of Melbourne’s eScholarship Research Centre.
- 12:30 – 1:30 Lunch (included) and Networking
- 1:30 – 4:15 The afternoon workshop will focus on setting up and supporting your archival program including grant writing, gaining and maintaining management support and resources for your program, and capability building. Presenters and discussion group leaders include: Paul Magin – Australian Catholic University Records and Information Manager, Noela Bajjali – Corporate Information Manager, Greater Metropolitan Cemeteries Trust, Melbourne, Rachel Naughton – Archivist and Museum Manager, Catholic Archdiocese of Melbourne.
- 3.00 pm Afternoon tea
- 3:30 – 4:15 Wrap-up and general discussion session
Following the workshop all are invited to enjoy refreshments and continue discussions at a local venue.
