Please join the Victorian Branch Annual General Meeting from 5.30-7.00pm on Wednesday 4  August 2021.

This will be a virtual AGM, hosted through Zoom.

Registrations required via ASA website: REGISTER HERE

We will start with some social time from 5:30 - 6:00 pm to discuss the year that was. Bring along a glass of something nice and some snacks and we'll celebrate the end of another fantastic year!

In accordance with branch rules, all positions are available for nomination and we encourage you all to apply and become involved in the branch.

The positions up for election include:

  • Convenor
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Communications Coordinator
  • Committee Members

Please note that while elections to offices are open to all members, the position of Convenor must be filled by a Member with current and financial Professional Membership Status.

Members can nominate themselves at any point up to the holding of the election and members can nominate for more than one position, but will then need two different people to support the nomination. The Branch Secretary will act as Returning Officer until the AGM.

Early nominations for any positions can be submitted to asavic@archivists.org.au. A nominating person must get support from the majority of the room. According to Branch rules, the Convenor must be an individual member of the society, and other members of the Committee must be individual members or the delegate of a corporate member.

If more than one nomination is received for any of the positions, other than Committee Members, then those present at the AGM will appoint a returning officer and an election will be held. Voting will be via a secret digital ballot with separate ballots for each position. The ballots will be called in the following order: Convenor, Secretary, Treasurer, Communications Officer. If there is a tie for the position then the returning officer must give a casting vote. If there are no nominations for any, or all, of the positions and the current Committee do not wish to stay in their position(s) then the matter must be put to the AGM.

Nominations can be called for at the meeting and, if necessary, an election held.

At the AGM you can expect to receive an Annual Report on the activities of the Branch from the Secretary, and a copy of the Branch’s financial statements for the preceding year from the Treasurer.

Please email Susannah Tindall, Branch Secretary at asavic@archivists.org.au if you have any other questions.

The program includes:

  • Social time - 5:30-6:00pm
  • AGM - 6:00-7:00pm
