Event Speaker
Peter Crush commenced working in archives in January 1970 with the Commonwealth Archives Office in Adelaide. In July 1978 he became the first full-time professional archivist employed by the Adelaide City Council, where he established the Adelaide City Archives, administered the City of Adelaide Oral History Project and developed the City of Adelaide Civic Collection. In 1989 he also became responsible for the Corporation’s current records management. In June 2000 he left the Council to begin his consulting business in Archives and Recordkeeping. He completed a six year term on the State Records Council of South Australia in November 2013. Peter is a foundation member of the Australian Society of Archivists in 1975.
