We are very excited to let you all know about our next ASA QLD branch event – a tour of the latest exhibition from the Army Museum South Queensland.
Soldiers of Empire
This new exhibition covers details of early military life and the social scene within Queensland and covers the evolution of the Army serving in Queensland from 1824 – 1903.
Beginning with the Imperial soldiers landing at Redcliffe in 1824 through the patriotic Volunteer regiments to the Queensland Defence Force, established by the 1884 Defence Act.
The display features original uniforms, artefacts, photographs and figures.
When: Saturday 27 August 2022, 9:30am – please arrive by 9:45am at the latest as we will be checking in at the guardroom to obtain visitors passes. Tour starts at 10am.
Where: Victoria Barracks, Petrie Terrace, Brisbane
Transport: parking on-site at the Barracks; or train to Roma Street station
Cost: $10 adult, $5 child – includes Devonshire tea. Amount to be paid onsite, CASH ONLY.
