Come join one of the world’s oldest queer archives in conversation with one of the world’s newest. This unique forum brings members of the Australian Queer Archive and the Queer Indonesia Archive in conversation for the first time.
Come witness first hand the highlights of these unique archival collections and listen as the panel explores the histories of their archives, the differences and similarities of their projects and the impact of historical and cultural context on their work.
Speakers will also share some of the unique history of collaboration and queer solidarity between Indonesia and Australia and explore the challenges facing their communities, collections and archives in the future.

The Australian Queer Archive, founded in 1978, holds material related to lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and gender diverse, intersex, queer, Brotherboy and Sistergirl (LGBTIQ+) Australians.

The Queer Indonesia Archive (QIA) was founded in 2019 as a digital archiving project committed to the collection, preservation and celebration of material reflecting the lives and experiences of queer Indonesia.

The event is free for the public.

Participants in the forum include:

AQuA: Nick Henderson and Helen Pausacker.
QIA: Harits Paramasatya, Beau Newham, Karina and Sidhi Vhisatya
