It is essential that participants purchase a copy of Indexing your annual report and bring it to the training. Copies can be purchased in either PDF ($25) or Print format ($35)

Course fees: Each half-day course –

$150 for non-members; $125 for ANZSI members;.

Refreshments: Lunch and morning / afternoon teas will be provided

For the reduced cost of training, join ANZSI Queensland Branch or your State branch. Membership forms for ANZSI are on the ANZSI website. An extended membership subscription from 1 June 2011 – 30 June 2012 at a cost of $80 is being offered for new members who wish to take advantage of cheaper indexing training.

Embedded indexing workshop

Date Thursday 28 July 2011; Time 9am – 12.30pm

This half-day workshop introduces participants to the basic elements of embedded indexing in MS Word.

Particular elements covered include:

• Why do embedded indexing?
• When can you start embedded indexing?
• How do you do embedded indexing in MS Word?
• Limitations of MS Word
• Tricks and tips
• Can you use indexing software and produce an embedded index?

Assumptions: it  will be assumed that participants will have a basic understanding of basic principles of indexing.

 Annual Report indexing

The Australian and New Zealand Society of Indexers, Queensland Branch, will be conducting a half-day indexing training workshop specifically on the indexing of annual reports whether from local, state or federal governments departments and statutory authorities, or from the corporate sector.

Who should attend
This professional development course is targeted at the staff responsible for compiling the index. No prior knowledge of indexing is required, but an interest in the topic would be beneficial.

• Compliance and subject indexes
• Financial statements
• Structuring the index
• Selection of terms
