Northwestern University Archives has hours of footage of Wildcat football games dating as far back as 1929. A preservation effort is now underway to digitize the more than 2,800 reels of film and hundreds of video tapes before their quality deteriorates any further. "It is very unusual to find a collection that has this volume of film in it," said University Archivist Kevin Leonard. "Our goal is to ensure that it survives into future generations because it's a history of the football program, it's a history of athletics and it's a record of Northwestern alumni. Anyone who wore a Northwestern jersey is documented there." For more information about this project and to view more clips from classic games, visit the University Archives Web site at northwestern.edu/library/archives. northwestern.edu/newscenter/stories/2008/12/footballarchives.html
