Whitlam research guide launched

Gough Whitlam: guide to archives of Australia's prime ministers was launched at the National Archives of Australia last month by former ALP Senator the Hon. John Faulkner.

The guide – by Professor Jenny Hocking, author of a two-volume Whitlam biography – is expected to stimulate research into both his personal and official papers. A towering figure in life and Australian history, Whitlam died in 2014 at the age of 98.

The Whitlam guide is the seventh in the Archives' prime ministers research guide series, listing archival resources regardless of where they are held, with the aim of making the records of all Australian prime ministers visible and accessible. The guide is available online http://guides.naa.gov.au/ and from the Archives Storehttp://shop.naa.gov.au/
