State Records and the State Library of South Australia are calling for expressions of interest from members of the South Australian Aboriginal community to join a joint Aboriginal Reference Group. The Group is being established as part of our commitment following the Tandanya-Adelaide Declaration.

The Aboriginal Reference Group will be core to a coordinated plan to enhance consultation with Aboriginal peoples and improve access to records held within both institutions. The Group will provide feedback and advice on State Records and the State Library’s activities, services and policies relating to Aboriginal people and culture.

Any Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person can nominate for membership of the Aboriginal Reference Group for a term of up to 24 months. The group will meet at least four times per year, either in person or online. Provision has been made for members to receive sessional payments under the Premier and Cabinet Circular PC016 Remuneration for Government appointed part-time Boards and Committees, using Remuneration Framework Level 6 (Committees).
