Carey Baptist Grammar will celebrate a centenary in 2023. The School intends to commission a history of the School and would like to explore some options of historians/authors or companies experienced in this work.
I would welcome any recommendations or suggestions from the community of School Archivists.
Kind regards,

A couple of tips:
For Nedlands Primary school centenary, they got older students to record oral histories with ex-pupils. This was varied but useful. As Local Studies Librarian, I was the drop-off place for memorabilia as I was more convenient than the school for location and hours open and could scan photos etc while the donor waited. We had a good working relationship that continues.
Hello
My name is Rosemary Mammino. In a previous role, I developed the history of state education in Queensland website. There is a specific section on that site which identifies information schools may like to consider more broadly when planning an anniversary celebration. Web address is: http://education.qld.gov.au/library/edhistory/ . However, it does not include specific options. Hope this information proves useful to you.
Hi Jo
I work at Kincoppal Rose Bay School of the Sacred Heart in Sydney. The School is soon to launch a book documenting its history from 1971 to the present. We engaged Longueville Media, a Sydney-based publisher with experience in producing commemorative and corporate histories https://longuevillemedia.com.au/
David Longfield, the Managing Director, is great to work with and can provide a range of services from inception to delivery of the final product. Although he is a publisher, he has a network of very accomplished historians and writers who he can bring on board to work with clients to deliver a product which meets their needs. He has worked with clients all around Australia and overseas, so I wouldn't be concerned about him being Sydney-based.
I would not hesitate to recommend Longueville Media for a project such as yours. if you'd like to chat about our project and the process and outcome, drop me an email at bradfordt@krb.nsw.edu.au or give me a call on 02 9388 6155 (Thursday & Friday).

Hi Jo, Congratulations in anticipation! We have had two history volumes produced by local historian Phil Roberts. Golden Heritage, provides a detailed and excellent history of the development of the school over 140 years. Publishers Mud Group in Ballarat 2005. The second volume was a glossy update in honour of our 150th celebrations. Titled 150 years, and compiled by Phil Roberts again, it included a brief historical overview and chapters devoted to current school learning environment, focus and activities, interspersed with featured spreads on past and current students. Published by Mud Group 2014. I have no hesitation recommending these professionals. Happy to forward a copy of 150 years if you would like.
Kind regards, Heather
