Queensland Memory Awards

These awards recognise the valuable contribution of individuals and organisations across Queensland in the investigation, preservation and celebration of Queensland’s memory - past and present.
Applications and nominations for State Library of Queensland Fellowships and Queensland Memory Awards for 2017 are now open.

The Queensland Memory Awards 2017 ceremony will be held at State Library of Queensland on Thursday 1 June 2017. The event brings together Queensland’s cultural heritage community as we honour outstanding contributions to Queensland’s documentary history over the previous 12 months. Fellowships

The John Oxley Library Fellowship, supported by the Queensland Library Foundation, offers researchers and historians the opportunity to discover Queensland’s rich history utilising the resources of the John Oxley Library and State Library of Queensland.

The Queensland Business Leaders Hall of Fame Fellowship is an initiative of the Queensland Business Leaders Hall of Fame, a partnership between State Library of Queensland, the Queensland Library Foundation and QUT Business School. This specialist fellowship supports researchers exploring Queensland’s business history.

The Mittelheuser Scholar-in-Residence (MSiR), supported by Dr Cathryn Mittelheuser AM through the Queensland Library Foundation, is awarded annually. The aim of the MSiR is to attract leading thinkers who will stimulate intellectual debate and give rise to innovative new services and strategies both within SLQ and more broadly throughout the GLAM (galleries, libraries, archives and museums) sector.

The Q ANZAC 100: Memories for a new generation project offers four (4) Fellowships each year until 2018. Q ANZAC 100 Fellowships are awarded to research projects that deepen and broaden our understanding Queensland’s experience during the First World War.

Awards
Both the John Oxley Library Award and the John Oxley Community History Award are given annually to individuals and local community organisations for distinction and innovation in the documenting and sharing of Queensland’s history.
