Preparing for a Conference Paper

With the ASA Conference coming up (17 - 21 October 2016), Sydney and Brisbane based archivists might like to check out this ALIA initiative, which is free to attend, and open to non-ALIA members:

ALIA Sydney and ALIA Queensland are joining forces with the ALIA 8th New Librarians' Symposium (NLS8) this August for a series of very special events, and everyone’s invited!

Thinking about preparing something to present at a conference but not quite sure how to do it? Have you presented before but need to brush up your skills? This night is for you.  Hear from the NLS8 Team about how to submit a proposal for NLS8 in Canberra next year, and join us for a panel discussion with locals who have taken the plunge and presented at conferences in the past.  Ask them your questions, pick up some tips, and gather your courage.

The Sydney panel will include Mylee Joseph (SLNSW), Michael Carney (SLNSW), Alex Cato (Ashurst Australia and ALLA Vice-president), Hiba Kanj (City of Parramatta Libraries), and Sally Turbitt (Central Coast Local Health District and NLS8 Co-Convenor).

The Brisbane panel will include Adrian Cunningham (QLD State Archives), Sam Searle (Griffith University), Elham Abdi (QUT), Fiona Emberton (ALIA Board Member), and Jane Cowell (SLQ and ALIA Board Member).
