IT'S OUR BIRTHDAY!

Hip hurray, today is our 33rd birthday!  Although our Collection dates back to 1935, the NFSA was established as an autonomous institution in 1984.  Prime Minister Bob Hawke officially opened our headquarters on the night of 3 October.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cEnJDvtVjoU

As you get older, birthdays become less about presents and cake (although there should always be cake) and more about reflecting on what you’ve achieved. From restoring the world’s first feature film (1906’s The Story of the Kelly Gang) to acquiring, preserving and sharing a collection of more than 2.8 million items, we’ve certainly been busy over the last 33 years! Check out what we’ve been up to by browsing the NFSA timelinehttp://timeline.nfsaa.com/
