A communication from Richard Neville, Mitchell Librarian, 16 April 2014:

Dear Readers & Supporters,

As many of you are aware, since launching the Mitchell Campaign in December last year, we have heard from many of our readers and passionate lovers of this Library about the proposed changes to our services in the Mitchell Library.

Over the last few months, we have listened carefully to everyone’s concerns and have been working on a revised plan to address them as fully as possible.

We now believe that we have found a solution and would like to share it with you.

I invite you to a special presentation and discussion on Monday 28 April at 10.00am in the Metcalfe Auditorium, here at the State Library. So that you may consider the revised plan over the Easter period before we meet, we have put it on our website. The plan will also be on public display in the Mitchell vestibule and Macquarie foyer.

I encourage all to attend and contribute to the discussion of the future of our much loved Mitchell Library.
