Introducing new Archives and Manuscripts General Editor, Dr Jessie Lymn

The ASA Council is delighted to announce and introduce Dr Jessie Lymn as the new General Editor of Archives and Manuscripts for a one-year term in 2022, Volume 50. Jessie's work will be supported by Hannah Hibbert (Assistant Editor) and Dr Louise Curham as Managing Editor and a member of Council.

Council is grateful to the previous General Editor Dr Viviane Frings-Hessami for her excellent leadership of the journal over the past three years, and support of the handover.

Jessie%20Lymn.png?profile=RESIZE_400xDr Jessie Lymn has a PhD that considers how zine making and other subcultural practices queer archival and collecting practices. She has taught records and archives practices and collection management in Australian universities and published in a range of archival and information management areas. She is currently a Senior Program Officer in the Australian government's Office for the Arts.

Until 2021 she was the Vice President and Managing Editor of the Australian Society of Archivists, and actively involved in publishing the Archives & Manuscripts archives on an open access platform, and in the recent project to move the current publication from a proprietary publishing model to open access. Jessie is also a lapsed zine maker and stencil press printer.

Jessie says: “In 2022 Archives and Manuscripts returns to self publishing, a significant change from the last 10 years of publishing with Taylor and Francis. Given this is a year of transition, but also one of grounding the journal for it's next decade and more of publication, I see this is an important year to bed down processes, practices and create stability for the future. As the General Editor of Volume 50 I will reflect the synergies between these significant changes for the journal and for archival theories and practices.”
