State Records NSW has a vacancy for the position of Project Officer, Government Recordkeeping. This position will assist in the development and implementation of Government-wide policy and initiatives for improving digital recordkeeping as part of the Future Proof strategy. Remuneration: Package up to $104,150 pa. Package includes salary ($84,711pa - $94,382pa), employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading.

Location: The Rocks, Sydney, 2000

Description:

The role of the Project Officer, Government Recordkeeping, is to undertake projects to implement Government-wide policy/strategies to improve recordkeeping. The position holder will research digital recordkeeping issues, provide recordkeeping advice and guidance to public offices, and assist in regulatory and compliance activities under the State Records Act 1998.

Selection criteria:

The following selection criteria form a specific part of the selection process. Candidates must address each of these items specifically in their application.

* Tertiary qualifications acceptable for eligibility for professional membership of the Australian Society of Archivists Inc or equivalent combination of qualifications and experience.
* Relevant experience in records/archives management, including experience in managing digital records/archives projects.
* Sound understanding of the regulatory environment for NSW Government recordkeeping.
* Thorough understanding of current and emerging digital recordkeeping concepts, practice and issues, and best practice records management.
* High level research, written and oral communication skills.
* Proven capacity for detailed work, ability to organise work, set priorities, meet deadlines and manage multiple projects.
* Proven capacity to work independently, as part of a team and with stakeholders.
