A new film by an Australian and US based filmmakers needs your support!

The Destruction of Memory is a passionate exploration of cultural destruction - the intentional destruction of the monuments, buildings, libraries and yes, archives of a people, in order to erase their collective memory and identity.

The film looks at the issue over the past century, and at contemporary and current stories from Bosnia, Mali, Egypt, Iraq and Syria. An Indiegogo campaign is being run through December, and contributions - anything from $5, $10, $25 and up - are hugely welcome.

This is a vital issue. The heroes of this story are the librarians, archivists and heritage workers who sometimes risk their safety and their lives to protect - people like Aida Buturovic, a 32 year old woman who worked at the National Library in Sarajevo, who was killed by a mortar shell as she left work. The Library wasn't open, the staff weren't being paid, their offices didn't have windows any longer. They continued going in every day to protect their books, and the rich, beautiful histories they told.

Please, give, support, and share. This is crowdfunding - it takes a crowd! Thank you!
