Australian Information Education Symposium

24 June 2012

City West Campus, University of South Australia, Adelaide

The Australian Information Education Symposium brings together educators within the information professions to enable a culture of informed and innovative teaching and learning practice.

The symposium responds to the recommendation from the Re-conceptualizing and repositioning Australian Library and Information Science Education for the 21st Century project:

“That Australia’s information discipline continues to support a culture of quality teaching and learning, especially given the need to accommodate a focus on the broader information landscape and more flexible delivery options”.

Information educators at all levels (VET and university) and supporting all facets of the profession (libraries, archives, information & knowledge management, records, schools, museums) are invited to come and share their ideas, explore best practice, develop their teaching scholarship, and work with others.

The Symposium is being introduced to sit along side the annual Research Application in Information and Library Services seminar. Together the two events will allow the nation's information educators to focus on the two key areas of research and teaching & learning

A call for contributions (papers, posters, panels, workshops) will be made shortly.

Online registration will open soon!
