The Call for Papers for the 2022 ASA Conference, Here We Are, is now open.

The past few years have been times of challenge, change and a sense of turmoil. This conference invites participants to take the time and space to reflect on where we are:

  • Practice and Identity: Here we are in our profession—rather than always looking to the future, where are we situated now, today? What is our standpoint? Who are we and where do we work? What have we achieved? In this theme we want to hear from you about practice, education and identity, for example, what is an archivist now? What is a record now?
  • Collaboration and Advocacy: Here we are! Bringing attention to ourselves, advocating for our profession(s)—telling people we are here. Here we are in relation to others—what is our relationship to place, to Country, to Canberra and the like.
  • Developing Practices: Where we aren’t—thinking about spaces we might want to move into; areas we do not currently occupy; conversations we do not currently participate in; relationships we can build.

We welcome a range of formats from in-depth presentations (approx. 20 minutes) to short, informal lightning talks which are ideal for showcasing projects, ideas and experiences (approx. 5-10 minutes).

The Call for Papers for our Here We Are 2022 Hybrid Conference will close on 15 March 2022.

Visit our Call for Papers Information Page for full details and instructions on how to submit your paper.
