The 2013 Conference of the ASA will be held in Canberra between 15 and 18 October at the Museum of Australian Democracy (Old Parliament House). 
 
The general theme for the conference is "Archives: the future. Exploring the environment and possibilities for records and recordkeeping".

Sessions will be held on the following broad themes:
  • Appraisal of records;
  • Access/FOI/Privacy;
  • Technology and the impact on archives;
  • The Profession: where it is and where it is going;
  • Legislation for archives and recordkeeping;
  • Outreach and finding new audiences; and
  • Issues relating to the merger of archives and libraries – or with other cultural
  • institutions.

The call for papers was sent out in early February and will end on 4 March 2013.
