Archival Badge Revival

Retro Archival Badge Project

The ASA VIC Branch is after a copy of your vintage archival badges (& of course some metadata to go with)!

We would like to collect images of archival badges so that we can reignite badge fever and get some of our favourite badges remade. Reminding us what some of the rather amusing badges said over the years and possibly to see if we can do it better!

So if you have one or many archival badges that you would like to share with us there are two ways to go about it:

Either complete our form here! (New form for each badge please!)

Or say hi to either Nicola Laurent or Christine Holmes at the ASA Conference next week in Hobart where we will:

  • Take a clear image of your badge
  • Grab the dimensions
  • Ask you for a year (or an estimate date) for the badge
  • Ask where the badge was from (for copyright purposes) eg. NAA
  • If you know the purpose of its production
  • What any acronyms on the badge stand for
  • And optionally if you have a fantastic story to go with the badge and how it came to be in your possession!
