Local History Grants Program 2018-2019

The Victorian Government recognises that local and community history is an important part of Victoria’s memory. The Local History Grants Program encourages and fosters community activities that preserve, record and share the local, social and community history of Victoria and Victorians.

Local History Grants Program 2018-2019

Applications are now open for the 2018-2019 Round of the Local History Grants Program.

Applications close midnight, Tuesday 18 December 2018. Late submissions will not be accepted.

Before starting, we strongly recommend that you read the Application Guidelines which provide important information about the eligibility criteria. A list of the Frequently Asked Questions is also available here.

The online application form must be completed by a person authorised to submit the grant on behalf of the applicant organisation.

Grants Online User Registration
The online process allows applications to be saved and completed at a later time. You will be required to register as a Grants Online user in order to ‘Save as Draft’ or ‘Submit’ an application form. If you are already a Grants Online registered user, you will be directed to enter your username and password when you ‘Save as Draft’ or ‘Submit’ the application. If you are not a Grants Online registered user, you will be directed to create a username and password. It is recommended that applicants start the process early to allow sufficient time to obtain necessary supporting documents.

Please Note: As the Victorian State Election will be held on Saturday 24 November 2018, the Victorian Government will assume a caretaker role from 6pm on 30 October 2018 until such time that either it becomes clear that the incumbent government will be returned, or when a new government is commissioned. In line with the caretaker conventions, the incoming government will determine whether to proceed with this grant process and award the grants after the caretaker period. Applicants should be aware that:

  • all information about this grant process represents the position of the current government only, and is subject change; and
  • the incoming government may decide to not proceed with this grant process.
