Events in Melbourne and Berlin

Hi All

The LGBTQ ALMS program has just been released, there is quite strong Australian representation, and the program looks amazing: https://queeralmsberlin2019.de/  in case anyone can be tempted by a somewhat impromptu trip to Berlin...

Closer to home, Hayley Webster and I will be talking all LGBTIQ+ GLAMorous things at RMIT in Melbourne:

"To coincide with RMIT’s Pride Week on 13-17 May and IDAHOBIT, ALIA RAIS (Vic) invite you to join us to hear from industry leaders dedicated to driving representation and inclusion of the LGBTIQA+ community in their practice.

Program

Clare O'Hanlon

Queering the GLAM sector: Out of the library, into the archives, and back again.

Clare O’Hanlon is a librarian by day and archivist at the Australian Lesbian and Gay Archives (ALGA). Clare will discuss the importance of independent community based archives and how the GLAM industry can get involved.

Hayley Webster

Queering Museums: The LGBTIQA+ Advisory Group at Museums Victoria.

Hayley Webster is the Manager, Library at Museums Victoria and a Lead Contact for Museums Victoria’s LGBTIQA+ Advisory Group. Hayley will talk about issues relating to queer representation in museums, attempts to improve representation at Museums Victoria, and the work that the museum’s LGBTIQA+ Advisory Group is doing to support workplace inclusion.

Q&A, networking and light refreshments will follow the talks.
