Dear all,
I was wondering if anyone could advise on some good recruitment agencies to sign up with, either that specialise in archives/records/information work, or that often have suitable roles available to professionals in those areas?
I am a qualified archivist from the UK and so am not familiar with agencies that might be useful for employment in Australia. I joined RIMS last year who found me a job working for Transport for NSW, however they don't recruit for roles outside of that State and I am now headed for Queensland.I check the employment pages on the ASA website, but it is always useful to have good employment contacts. And I can't be the only one who could benefit from knowing which agencies to get in contact with depending on their location.

Hi Ruth,
Given that I have moved from Brisbane 5 years ago to Melbourne. I would consider contacting Kelly Services, One Umbrella or Hudson recruitment agencies.
You can also look at the Qld Govt jobs website - https://smartjobs.qld.gov.au
Contact the ASA Qld Branch Convenor Greg Cope - He should be able to help you.
You can also try Access Office Systems - Maria Rego there should be able to assist or lead you in the right direction.

I will second the One Umbrella, I have found permanent and casual roles through them, including my current role with AGL Macquarie in the Upper Hunter Valley (probably the only Archivist job in the Hunter Valley!).
I deal with Catherine Hill who is excellent. She is based in the Sydney office, but it is worth ringing and talking to her and seeing who she would suggest you talk to in Queensland. Another agency, probably less suitable but worth contacting is Zenith at Chatswood in Sydney. They are mainly focused on librarians but might have a Queensland office or contact person.
