Microsoft application for historical archives

Hi there

Wondering if there is a MS365 archive plug of sorts? The charity I am working for is Microsoft cloud-based so if there was an easy solution for recording the collection that would be terrific. They have nothing at all in place for their historical records.

Thanks

  • The current Microsoft formats for Word, Excel, and Powerpoint have quite good archival characteristics. In particular, Word is much superior to PDF. You should only have to worry about keeping access to the files. For cloud storage, the major problems are storing access credentials over long periods of time and keeping up payments to the cloud provider. • Good question

We use Excel at Freemasons Queensland for accessioning and we have tailored it to our collection.

I'm interested in what other databases are around as well
