What is the Find and Connect Records Access Documentation Project?
$600,000 has been allocated for the Find and Connect  Records Access Documentation Project in 2011-2012. Anticipated grants of up to $15,000 will be made to eligible not for-profit organisations.
The Find and Connect Records Access Documentation Project will improve Forgotten Australians’ and Former Child Migrants’ access to records which are important to them. Documenting these important records is critical to Forgotten Australians and Former Child Migrants being able to reclaim their identity and trace their families.

Priority will be given to funding past providers with records for release which are likely to have the greatest impact for Forgotten Australians and Former Child Migrants, with a particular focus on the records of Forgotten Australians and Former Child Migrants for whom there is no surviving government information.

The Find and Connect Records Access Documentation Project will provide cash grants of up to $15,000 to eligible not-for-profit organisations to document, index and release records relating to children placed in Homes, orphanages and other forms of out-of-home ‘care’ during the 1920s–1980s.

Apply when?
