CRDI MAKES "DIGITAL IMAGE": A NEW PROPOSAL OF TECHNICAL PHOTOGRAPHIC EVOLUTION  IN AUDIOVISUAL FORMAT

The Centre for Image Research and Diffusion (CRDI) of Girona City Council offers a new audiovisual product that allows us to know the technical process of digital image formation. The new audiovisual, performed using 3D animation techniques, shows the inner workings of a non-professional digital camera to explain, in a didactical way, how digital image is constructed.

This is the fourth proposal in a series devoted to the evolution of photographic techniques and procedures that began in 2007 with the creation of an audiovisual about daguerreotype and continued with two others about chronophotography and albumen paper. As previous, this audiovisual has been designed and thought by the Centre for Image Research and Diffusion (CRDI) in collaboration with the Cinema Museum of Girona and produced by the Department of Digital Media Production, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture La Salle , of the Ramon Llull University.

These audiovisual are unique in their execution and presentation, and it allows the viewer (unlike what they can offer theoretical texts) to get a clear idea of the materials used in various procedures, how to handle these materials or how the different technological devices works.
