After advice regarding the digitisation of permanently retained personnel records. We are looking at the complete digitisation of this collection and have created standards which we have researched and considered to be acceptable to create an authentic and reliable copy capable of being used as evidence in legal proceedings should they arise. We would like to destroy the original records in future.
The aim of this discussion is to determine the highest level of expectation and where consessions may be made in the results of the process.
If you have undertaken a similar project could you provide details of any of the following:
1. Standards you have used to guide the process
2. Acceptable error rate, overall / per box / per file
3. Alternatives or work arounds you developed
4. What concessions you made and how these affected the collection
