Please join us for a tour of the Adelaide Holocaust Museum & Andrew Steiner Education Centre. The tour will include:

• Welcome and overview of AHMSEC, how it came to be, its vision and future plans (Kathy Baykitch, Centre Director).

• Introduction to permanent display, with insight into curatorial process as well as brief outline of forthcoming new exhibition on Holocaust survivors who made South Australia home (Pauline Cockrill, Curator).

• Introduction to Education Program (Tamas Lorincz, Education Coordinator)

There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions about the exhibition and programs. Our Social Media Coordinator, Jasmine Munn-McDonnell will also be on hand to join in the discussion.

You will also be able to spend time viewing at your own pace the permanent display which traces the history of the Holocaust, and the Anne Frank Australia travelling exhibition ‘Let Me Be Myself: The Life Story of Anne Frank’ (note this closes 31 October).

The curator, Pauline Cockrill, is happy to discuss in more detail the process of putting together exhibitions, especially on a budget. In return she would love your help! So far, they have discovered a handful of Jewish refugees or Holocaust survivors who became schoolteachers in South Australia. Do you have information in your archives that could help the museum with its research?

Cost

There is a $10 per person donation to be collected by the AHMSEC on arrival at the event. Payment can be made by cash or card.
