Designing the Archive 2019 Programme

Saturday and Sunday (19-20 October): ICA Governance Meetings including ICA Branches and Sections, FAN Steering Committee, Executive Board and Programme Commission, social events.

Monday (21 October):

  • ASA Special Interest Group Meetings (School Archives, COFTSIG, GovSIG, RAPPSIG, UniSIG)
  • ASA Annual General Meeting and Mander Jones Awards (4 - 6pm)
  • Welcome Reception from 6pm at the Art Gallery of South Australia
  • CAARA Leaders Forum
  • Optional tours of Adelaide and surrounds available for delegates not attending meetings.

Tuesday to Thursday (22 - 24 October):

Conference Program representing over 160 speakers from 40 countries including:

  • Four keynote speakers - Dr Michelle Caswell, Professor Marek Kowalkiewicz, Dr Elizabeth Shpeherd, and Camille Callison
  • Loris Williams Memorial Lecture with Dr Lyndon Ormond-Parker and Professor Aaron Corn
  • Four parallel sessions per day
  • In-conference Workshops including PARBICA’s Recordkeeping for Good Governance Toolkit;  How to conduct outreach activities with a limited budget; The Enslaved in the Archives; Selling Archives; Co-Designing a Low-Tech Digital Community Archive; Developing and delivering high quality face-to-face training and online learning; FIDA: supporter of the development of archives; Accessibility by Design.
  • Conference Dinner (optional) - Wednesday 23 October

Friday (25 October):

ICA Indigenous Matters Summit (register your interest via the registration system) - Speakers and workshops on International challenges and opportunities and regional Indigenous perspectives.
