Hi all,

I'm working on an Australian History PhD at the University of Melbourne, and will be in Brisbane in the first week of October for some interview fieldwork.

Can anyone recommend any repositories in which I could find material on trade union involvement in the 1967 Referendum 'yes' campaign, or union support for, and activity on, Aboriginal issues in general in the mid-1960s?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

The FAIRA library would also be good to look at. I'll see if I can get you a contact.

    • Thank you so much, Kathy - have sent you an email!

  • Thanks, John and Hilary. I've already visited archives in Canberra, though - was just hoping for some insider knowledge on possible relevant material in Brisbane specifically.

  • There would be records (eg ASIO records) at the National Archives, mainly held in Canberra.

  • Archives of Business and Labour in Canberra should have material.
