Dear all
We are new and small corporate archives. We are planning to buy a archival system. Currently, We have 80% of archives are paper and the rest of them are electronic. We foresee that we shall collect more electronic files like video and photos and less paper records in future. Do you have any recommendation to prepare the RFP and which archival system that you recommend?
Thank you
Muriel Yeung

Hi Muriel,
The full name is DBTextworks and the company that develops it is Lucidea. If you are looking specifically for an archival system, Lucidea has another system named ArchivEra, specialized in the field.
Best of luck in your hunt!

Hi Muriel, Our TrackNPrint product does allow some digital linkiing. You are welcome to try the product in free trial from http://www.codafilesoftware.com/tracknprint-trial-download . This will give you a very good idea of its fit to your requirements.
Cheers,

We started with DbText as a small archives for an organisation that archives material for the South Pacific region. We were able to design it to meet our needs - we are happy with its capabilities. We did not need web access so that saved us a lot of money. My question is do you already have Records Management? Records management and archiving are two entirely different processes/needs. They are often mis-understood in small organisations.
Dear Rose-lee
We do a bit of record management but we don't have a system. We decentralised the RM to the department. May I ask what is the full name of DbText. I cannot find it online.
thank you
Muriel
Hi Muriel,
Assuming you are in ANZ and want to minimise your costs; to attend to your immediate task of establishing control of your physical records I'd suggest you consider using Codafile systems. From there you could embark on culling and selective digitisation. For more detailed and interactive conversation send me an email to get my reply with all contact details. I am Inaki Gonzalez - inaki.gonzalez@codafile.com.au Part of Winc/OfficeMax If you are not in A/NZ we may still be able to assist you and am happy to discuss. Cheers, Inaki
Dear Inaki
thank you for your suggestion. We are in Hong Kong. I am afraid that we not only want to control the physical one but also the digital one
Best regards
