Furniture restoration in Sydney

Hello all,

I am seeking recommendations for a furniture restorer in Sydney. My archives (in the inner west) has two large antique wood display cabinets that need some repairs and a bit of a facelift.

Thanks to you all for your help :)

Robin

  • Thank you all for your helpful suggestions!
  • Hi Robin, you could try Ben Stoner Antiques, based in Chippendale. We used him to restore a large chronograph in our collection and he did a brilliant job. All the best, Hannah
  • I'd recommend International Conservation Services - http://www.icssydney.com.au/

  • Hello Robin,

I can recommend Robert Remin from Remin Furniture.  I have used him a number of times to restore antique furniture in the Archives & at home.  Some years ago he restored a number of antique exhibition cabinets which I have in the Archives.  They are made of Australian cedar & date back to the 1850s.  They had all been painted mission brown in the 1970s & Robert did a wonderful job of restoring them back to the original polished cedar.

    Regards, Cathy
