Come and join the Western Australian Branch and the Curtin University Alumni for their Christmas Fun + GovHack event.

The Australian tech community is always on the lookout for a cool new challenge - and a lot of their recent attention has been on how to open up the libraries and archives of Australia. Come along to the last meeting for ASA in 2016 to hear about how you can jump on this wave of innovative, entrepreneurial energy and have some of the best tech minds of Australia focus on solving your problems. Tim Sondalini, State Manager of GovHack WA, will talk to us about the process of opening up your data; some of the awesome things people have done with Open Data and how GovHack might be the place for you to get involved!

Then wind down the year in the spirit of Christmas whilst exploring what datasets you can offer for future GovHacks with your peers.

Speaker: Tim Sondalini has helped organise GovHack (Australia's premier Open Data hackathon) in WA for the last four years. This year, as State Manager, Tim assisted a number of organisations open up their data. In his professional life, Tim is an analytics professional with Deloitte Consulting.

Refreshments: Your first drink is sponsored by the Royal Perth Yacht Club, ASA & the Curtin Alumni. Sweet and savoury platters included with your registration fee. Please indicate in the additional information field in your registration if you have any special dietary needs.

Event Sponsor: Royal Perth Yacht Club
