Archives and records researchers and educators are a growing cohort in Australia and internationally. In 2018, the Educator’s Forum returns with an expanded vision to support researchers and educators.

In the revitalised R&E Forum, the goal is to build strong collaborative research networks and nurture a community of practice to sustain archives and records education and research into the future. The proposed broad agenda of the 2018 R&E Forum is how we, as a community, can facilitate new thinking and connections.

The 2018 Researchers and Educators Forum is open to local and international records and archival educators, researchers and PhD students. The Forum will be a half day event focused on: 1) Learning and Teaching (L&T), and 2) Research and Collaboration. All delegates will be actively involved in sharing, listening, participating and planning.

What to bring: Laptops, pens, paper
Be prepared to: Share your experiences on L&T, introduce your research projects and how others can collaborate with you.
Cost: $10.00

The activities of the day start with a plenary session that discusses how visualisation and creative technology hubs, such as The Curtin HIVE (Hub for Immersive Visualisation and eResearch), are being used to promote L&T and research projects.

During the forum, we will hear short presentations, round table style, on L&T practices and challenges, as well as be introduced to the diversity of archives and records research currently underway. Everyone will have the opportunity to meet and discover potential collaborators with a speed dating researcher session.

A key feature of the day will be the opportunity to examine, discuss and plan on how to facilitate new thinking for the future as a community of practice.
