You are invited to the Queensland School Archives SIG meeting at Fairholme College, Toowoomba. For those of you involved in looking after the history of your school it is an opportunity to meet up with others and discuss any issues you may have.

There will be a tour of the Fairholme College Archives and historical displays with Jenny Noble sharing their process of creating a Heritage Trail and outlining the school’s history. There will be a session talking about coordinating significant milestone events, with Jenny Noble from Fairholme and Naomi Matthews from University of South Queensland.

Lydia Egunnike from Queensland Museum Network at Cobb and Co will discuss methods and hints for displaying interesting objects we have, guiding us in how to write a good interpretive panel.

After lunch, you may choose to take the opportunity to visit the Toowoomba Grammar School Museum, or make your way to the Cobb and co museum.

This is a free event with a charge for lunch catering of $15 cash on the day.

Take this opportunity to meet other school archivists within the QLD branch and get involved in discussions around potential activities and events the Branch will organise over the next 12 months.

Denise Stephenson, our Convenor is overseas so please contact either Wendy Biggs (w.biggs@staidan.qld.edu.au) or Cathy Clem ( cathy.clem@ahs.qld.edu.au) if you would like to attend - phone details below. Please let either organiser know by Thursday 24 by end of the day for catering purposes.
