The MER’s focus – the life-cycle management of electronically stored information – is increasingly recognized as the “keystone” of information governance.

With great changes taking place in all aspects of managing electronically stored information (ESI), there are unprecedented new challenges to be addressed.

This year, the MER celebrates its 25th Anniversary with a visionary program focusing on the next 5, 10 and 15 years.

The MER co-chairs seek experienced speakers to lead sessions on the challenges and opportunities relating to the life-cycle management of electronic records. They include, but are not limited to:

  • Best Practices
  • Big Data
  • Continuous process improvement
  • Cybersecurity and the intersection between data protection and records management
  • Emerging challenges related to data privacy
  • Defensible destruction of information
  • E-mail issues and solutions
  • Getting started with governance for electronically stored information
  • Information Governance as a model for effective management of electronic data and information
  • The Internet of Things
  • The rapid growth in cloud computing and the challenges and opportunities it presents
  • Professional advancement for information management professionals

You are encouraged to submit “success” stories and “lessons learned” case studies associated with these topic areas.

The MER also welcomes a variety of presentation formats ranging from single-speaker presentations to panel discussions.

Your Submission…

The MER employs an iterative, interactive and collaborative process for designing each session. These discussions are a key part of creating the highest quality educational experience for attendees. Bob Williams will be in touch with you after your initial submission has been reviewed – to help evolve your ideas and collectively create a premier conference program.

If your thoughts are in a “developmental” stage and you would like to discuss them further with us before finalizing your submission, please contact Bob Williams at 312-527-1551 or robert.williams@cohasset.com.

The MER co-chairs are very open to considering unique session ideas. Send us your best!
