Canberra Museum and Gallery Floor talk: Conservation

To write an informed history we need to preserve the records of the past. The issue of caring for valuable documentary heritage is key to the mission of the UNESCO Memory of the World programme and the aim of creating a collective historic memory. Join Prue McKay, National Archives of Australia, as she delves into some of the intricate and challenging aspects of paper conservation, in particular the important work the Archives is undertaking on iron gall ink. Kim Morris, Director and Senior Conservator of Art & Archival, will also provide an insight into recent developments in conservation techniques and guiding principles.
