ASA Conference and ITIC Symposium: SIG Meetings

As part of the conference, the National School Archives SIG will hold a special workshop and AGM.

National School Archives SIG Workshop and Annual General Meeting

Monday 25th September 2017

Trinity College, University of Melbourne
Hosted by Dr Ben Thomas, Rusden Curator, Cultural Collections and Archivist.

We have two conservators from the Centre for Cultural Materials Conservation at PROV and Angela Henricksen from Archival Survival coming to discuss our topic.

Conservation: Where is the line? What should/could you do as a school archivist with little to no budget and what should you most definitely leave to the professionals.

This workshop will cover paper, photographs and the many weird and wonderful objects that we as school archivists have.

There will be an opportunity for you to bring in items so we can all benefit from the conservator’s knowledge during a Q&A session.

There will be networking opportunities and Ben will be providing a tour of Trinity’s new Archive space, as well as the National School Archives SIG AGM (an hour at most).

Please book through the conference registration page.  No bookings will be accepted on the dayhttps://www.archivists.org.au/conference2017

Cost: $55 pp (Optional event when registering for the ASA National Conference & ITIC Symposium)

Should you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact our school archivist representative on the 2017 ASA Conference committee.
