2018 Conference

In an era of fake news, alternative facts and technological disruption, how can we nurture reliable shared memory that provides the foundation of identity and ensures the accountability of our institutions to society?

Fifty years after the publication of Phillip K. Dick’s novella, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, we invite you to Perth, Western Australia, to consider the impact of the digital and communications revolutions on the roles of archives and archivists.

Inspired by Ridley Scott’s interpretation of Dick’s iconic novella and the cyberpunk genre, we ask you to imagine the implications and consequences of technology on our work and our collections; to view past, present and future through a glass, differently.
