Storytelling - Reinterpreting the Museum Experience

The theme of the Conference this year is “Storytelling” and how museums can create an experience that engages visitors, empowers discovery and ignites debate, sparking the imagination in a unique way.

The conference will include a fantastic mix of speakers, case studies, workshops, networking opportunities and themed social events. There are over 20 historical collections in the Fraser Coast region so take the opportunity to visit a diverse range of local museums and galleries.

A highlight of the conference will be a City by Night walking tour which brings Maryborough’s stories to life in a unique, immersive way featuring delightful live performance, projections, and short films.

The conference will feature a keynote presentation by Emma Best, Newcastle Museum, along with a variety of case studies and presentations based on the theme.

Earlybird Registration: $155
Conference Dinner: $50
The Welcome Event, Guided Walking Tour, and Portside by Night Tour are included in your Conference ticket.

Registrations open 1 July 2016.

A preliminary program is available below and to the right.
